Alba has more than 25 years of experience in the financial markets. She holds a Master’s Degree in Finance from ITAM, a specialization in Carbon Markets from the International Carbon Markets Association (ICMA) and CESGA certification as an ESG Analyst from the European Federation of Financial Analysts, EFFAS.

She worked for 20 years at Grupo Bolsa Mexicana de Valores, as director of Product Development and New Markets in the securities brokerage firm. She is currently general director of the Mexican Sustainable Finance Council (CMFS), a representative body of the Mexican Financial System that has been driving best practices in green and sustainable finance since 2016, promoting capacity building among market players and the mobilization of capital with positive impacts on the environment and society as a whole.

Alba participates in the Sustainable Finance Committee of the Financial System Stability Council, led by the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of Mexico; is part of the Executive Committee of the United Nations Financial Centers for Sustainability (FC4S) network, representing the Mexico City Financial Center and the Hub of the Americas together with the Financial Centers of Montreal and Rio de Janeiro; is a member of the Technical Advisory Committee on Sustainability of CINIF and of the IFRS Sustainability Standards Review Committee.

Alba is a professor at the Universidad Panamericana and teaches specialized courses in Sustainable Finance. She is a speaker in multiple local and international forums covering various topics on green finance, climate change, regulation, taxonomies, information disclosure and ESG risk analysis, in alliance with various guilds of the Mexican financial system.
