Mr. Manuel Guillermo Muñoz Cano Castro is CEO and Executive President of Grupo Indi. He began his professional career at Grupo Indi as a resident construction assistant in 1992, moving through the various areas of the company until he was appointed corporate general manager in 2015.
Under his management, the company has consolidated its position as an important participant in the development of infrastructure in Mexico, achieving a historic backlog that includes projects such as the expansion of the new container terminal at the Port of Veracruz, the construction of phase 2 and 3 of the Port of Manzanillo, the construction and start-up of the first Cablebus in Mexico City, the awarding of section 3 of the Tren Maya, among others; in addition to important investments in the tourism sector and in urban and suburban mobility concessions.
Architect Manuel Muñoz Cano was recognized for his leadership, knowledge and capacity for innovation as one of the “30 Promises in the 30’s” by Expansión magazine in 2011. He is passionate about sports and has promoted the active participation of Grupo Indi as a sponsor in motorsports, triathlon, tennis, among others. Committed to the importance of physical activity and teamwork as part of the integral development of society.
Manuel Muñoz Cano holds a degree in architecture from the Instituto Superior de Arquitectura and certifications in Construction Business and International Business from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a graduate of the Owner/President Management Program (OPM), generation 47, from Harvard Business School and holds a certificate in Senior Management (AD) from IPADE. He currently holds the position of Chief Executive Officer at Grupo INDI, a position he has held for 7 years. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Grupo INDI, PF Protón I, ARKE Infraestructura y Energía, among others.
